We are a group of 20 students of English at the Asociación Rosarina de Cultura Inglesa (Rosario, Argentina), preparing to sit for the Cambridge CAE examination next December. We all passed FCE exam last year, and our ages range from 17 to 20. This course started in March and will run till the end of November 2006. We have 6 hours of English weekly, divided into 3 periods.

Trying to use Haloscan

This will be trial-and-error learning ... I want to start using Haloscan, so I need to find a topic I'm interested in, to get more info on that topic. As Aaron suggested, an online HTML tutorial to get a basic idea of how HTML works and how to recognize the basic tags is a good first step towards understanding the process. Now, following the instructions in the Haloscan tutorials, saying: Find a post that you're interested in - First, you will need to find the post or article on a that you have written about on your own weblog. That post or article will also need to be trackback enabled--in other words, that post should display a link somewhere that says Trackback or something similar I have been trying to find such article, i.e., one that has been trackback enabled..., unsuccessfully. Or maybe I can't recognize the link...!? I'll post this query to our list and wait for help. This record might help others as I go through it.

Motivation

The crucial element which triggers the participation in blogs is motivation. Whether the blog is meant for colleagues or students, we need to concentrate on the topic that will move prospective participants to action. I opened a blog for a group of EFL teachers who are attending a CALL SIG (Special Interest Group)in my place, and I found that, even when the members in this group had joined it out of their own will to learn about blogging, it was my duty to

keep the ball rolling

. And I guess the same might happen with blogs aiming at complementing classwork. Age, for example, and their different interests need to be taken into account, as well as different groups' needs. But, above all, it was me who needed to stay motivated !! I feel this to have been my first difficulty I encountered in practice, and would like to hear what others have to say in this respect.
